Securing Sensitive Information with Consistent Multi-Factor Authentication

Challenge: As the client’s IT managed service provider, Guardian Computer monitored the efficacy of this Central Texas multi-location healthcare provider’s data protection system regularly through periodic security audits. During one of these audits, our team noticed a critical hole in the client’s cybersecurity.

The problem was that although multi-factor authentication (MFA) had been implemented according to Microsoft’s established processes, it was not working consistently. Through the security audits our team performs, Guardian Computer has come across hackers attempting to access the data of others in simple ways, such as by guessing login credentials. Without MFA required in every instance, this is an easy way to get hacked.

  • We successfully assisted the client in establishing and enforcing a consistent MFA system that could be applied across the client’s network for all Microsoft 365 processes.
  • 1,000+ users successfully protected by applying this MFA solution across all of our clients that use Microsoft 365
  • 1,500+ workstations, tablets, and network devices monitored
  • 3 weeks to resolve the issue with our own solution, which will enable MFA  until Microsoft can resolve this defect
