Cybersecurity

Nothing happened today. That's the job.

Security work is judged by what doesn't happen — and most of it you'll never see. Guardian runs layered protection across every part of the environment we manage, with defined processes behind it and people who know what they're looking at.

Security management is part of Guardian's Managed Services. Need an independent view of where you stand today? See our Security & Compliance Readiness Review.

What It's Preventing

A breach you have to disclose

The cost is rarely the incident. It's the notification, the questions from customers, and the answer you have to give a regulator or an insurer.

Downtime that stops the business

Ransomware doesn't take an afternoon. It takes days or weeks, and it takes them at the worst possible moment.

A compliance answer you can't give

When a bank, an insurer, or a customer asks what controls you have, the honest answer needs to be a good one.

Money that leaves quietly

The wire that went to the wrong account. The invoice paid to a convincing stranger. No system went down and nothing looked broken.

How It's Done

Detection and response around the clock

Extended detection and response on managed workstations and servers, backed by a security operations center staffed 24/7. Where automated containment is supported, it acts on a threat without waiting for business hours.

Everyday controls kept current

Patching with failed updates followed up, disk encryption, secure server configuration, and firewall and network rules reviewed as the business changes. Most incidents start with something ordinary that nobody kept current.

Accounts and access protected

Multifactor, sign-in controls, and administrative access managed in Microsoft 365. A stolen password shouldn't become a stolen company. Server backup is included with Managed Server, so the data behind those accounts can be brought back rather than reconstructed.

Email, where most attacks arrive

Advanced email protection is part of the stack, not something to add later. Some of the hardest attacks look completely legitimate — an invoice that appears to come from your bookkeeper, addressed to the right person, with bank details changed at the last minute. This inspects for impersonation and invoice fraud, the attacks most likely to move money out of a business without anything appearing to break.

Microsoft 365 backup, sized to what you keep

Moving files into OneDrive can make workstation backup less necessary — and moves that data somewhere a workstation backup was never going to reach. This covers email, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams, and it's the only thing that brings that data back.

It sits outside the stack because the answer varies: how much you keep, how far back, and whether archiving belongs with it. Your calls to make, and we'll walk through them with you.
